1. B. Revenge is a dish best served cold. This scene was a direct indictment by Dassin not just on Dmytrik, but the entire blacklist system and all the pain and misery it caused so many people.
2.A. REAL. They were loaned to the film by the jeweler Jean Dusausoy for the heist. To make sure life wouldn't imitate art, heavy armed police presence was on the perimeter of the filming the entire time they were used, guarding the jewels closely.
3. D. In the street. The actors sat on chairs at a table dressed with dishes and silverware across from the jewelry store. Dassin placed a cafe window behind them to frame the scene and juxtapose the heist talk with the actual object of desire.
4. A. 47! Alcohol and cigarettes really took their real life toll on the actor Jean Servais, who played Tony. Looking how he does in this film, although perfectly cast, its hard to believe the actor lived another 20 years in real life!
